Hey, so I was looking at the car sales for July 2025, and man, the electric car market is wild right now. It’s like a real-life race.

Tata.ev Is Still The Leader

Tata.ev is totally in the driver’s seat. They sold over 5,018 electric cars in July, and that’s like a 39% chunk of the whole market! Their cars like the Nexon EV and the Punch EV are just super popular. Plus, they just started delivering the new Harrier EV, which is probably helping them stay way out in front.

MG Is Right Behind Them

But get this, MG Motor is right on Tata’s tail. They sold over 4,633 cars, which is a huge 33% of the market. Their car, the MG Windsor, is a total superstar. Everyone loves it, and the new Windsor Pro is making it even more popular. It’s a really close race between these two, and it’s actually kind of cool to see them pushing each other to make better cars.

Mahindra Is Powering Up

Then you’ve got Mahindra. They’re not in the top two yet, but they’re definitely making a big move. They just launched some new electric SUVs, and you can tell they’re serious about this. Mahindra is known for their tough, rugged vehicles, and it looks like they’re bringing that same energy to the electric market. They sold only 2,439 EV car in india market.

Hyundai and BYD Are Stuck

Now, the weird part is what’s happening with Hyundai and BYD. You’d think they’d be big players, but they’re kind of just stuck in traffic. Hyundai’s cars haven’t really taken off in the electric space, even though their regular gas cars are super popular. And BYD, which is huge globally, just isn’t getting much traction here in India. Maybe they’ll catch up later, especially with Hyundai’s new Creta EV coming, but for now, they’re just not in the race.

So yeah, that’s the story for July. Tata is leading, MG is right there with them, and Mahindra is closing in. It’s going to be really interesting to see who ends up on top by the end of  the year!
