Okay, so I just saw the craziest thing – spy shots of the upcoming 2025 Hero Glamour 125, and seriously, my jaw dropped. We’re talking about a commuter bike, right? The kind you zip around town on? Well, hold onto your helmets, because this new Glamour 125 apparently has cruise control!

Yeah, you read that correctly. Cruise control. On a 125cc commuter. It’s like Hero MotoCorp decided to throw a curveball nobody saw coming. For a brand that’s always been about making reliable, fuel-efficient bikes for the masses, this is a seriously bold move. It makes you wonder if they’re trying to blur the lines between what we expect from a basic commuter and something a bit more premium.

What I Saw in Those Spy Shots:

Even though the test bike was all camouflaged, some things were super clear:

* Cruise Control Buttons: This was the shocker. Right there on the handlebar, you could plainly see the cruise control button, plus the ‘set’ and ‘resume’ buttons. This pretty much confirms it’s got a ride-by-wire throttle system, which is pretty high-tech for this segment.

* Fancy Digital Screen: Forget those old, simple displays. This new Glamour 125 has a full-color TFT instrument cluster. It looks a lot like the one on the XPulse 210, but probably customized for the Glamour. I’m guessing it’ll have Bluetooth connectivity too, for navigation and calls.

* New Buttons and Switches: The handlebar controls looked redesigned, and there was even a “mode” button. Could this mean different riding modes? If so, the Glamour 125 would be one of the very few 125cc bikes in India to offer that, alongside the TVS Raider 125.

* Subtle Style Upgrades: While it was mostly hidden, you could tell the bodywork got a bit of a refresh. I’m hoping for some cool new colors and maybe sleeker lines. The LED turn indicators are a nice modern touch.

* Still a Commuter at Heart: Even with all the new tech, it still looked like a practical commuter. It seemed to keep the comfy long seat, regular front forks, and all those basic bits that make a commuter, well, a commuter.

Cruise Control on a 125cc? Seriously, Why?

This is the big question, right? For city riding, cruise control isn’t really necessary. But think about those slightly longer rides, maybe on the highway or even just long stretches of open road outside the city. Cruise control can make a huge difference in reducing fatigue. It just makes the ride way more comfortable.

My guess is that Hero might be using the Glamour 125 as a testbed for this tech. If it works well here, they could roll it out to their bigger bikes like the XPulse 210 or the Karizma XMR. If that happens, it could really change what we expect from bikes in this category.

Engine and When to Expect It:

Underneath all that new tech, the engine is likely to be the familiar 124.7cc, air-cooled unit that’s already doing duty in the current Glamour. It’s known for being reliable and fuel-efficient, putting out about 10.7 BHP and 10.6 Nm of torque. I doubt there’ll be a massive power boost, but they’ll probably fine-tune it to work perfectly with all the new electronics.

I’m betting we’ll see the 2025 Hero Glamour 125 – maybe even called the “Glamour Xtec 2.0” – around the festive season later this year. With all these fancy new features, it’s definitely going to cost a bit more than the current model.

But honestly, if Hero pulls this off, it’s going to be a game-changer. It’ll put the Glamour 125 in direct competition with bikes like the TVS Raider 125 and maybe even the upcoming Honda CB125 Hornet. It’s exciting to see Hero MotoCorp pushing the boundaries and bringing advanced tech to a segment where we least expect it!
